Les Mayes, DVM
Chief of Staff
I struggled to write a biography about what “I am”. However, I would like you to know that I am a caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, hard-working person with a positive attitude. I grew up in Roswell, New Mexico. From an early age, I had a strong desire to become a Veterinarian. This was further encouraged by several factors. One of these factors was “Casey's Shadow”. Few of you have seen this movie, those of you that have will know how this movie could inspire a young person to become a Veterinarian. I attended South Plains College on scholarship and received an A.S. in Animal Science. From there I attended Texas Tech University on scholarship and received a Bachelor of Science B.S. in Animal Science. My dream was always to attend Colorado State University. Fortunately, I was accepted to CSU and received my D.V.M. degree from Colorado State University in 1997.
After receiving my Degree in Veterinary Medicine, I worked in two multi-doctor practices for 9 years and I was fortunate enough to live out a lifelong dream of becoming a resident Veterinarian on a Thoroughbred Farm. I was a resident Veterinarian for four years. During this time my dreams and goals altered. I have three children and a great wife. My goal was to find a place to raise kids and a place to practice Veterinary Medicine. We were fortunate enough to find both in Fort Worth. I am a blessed man to have a great job in one of the greatest professions on earth, caring for your family member. I can assure you at South Meadow Animal Clinic we will foster a caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, hard-working environment to provide the highest level of care for your family member, our patients.
